Aleeza Meir was raised as a homeschooler and immersed in music from early childhood. She began her formal training at the age of five under Mary Ann Covert, a professor of piano at Ithaca College , and got her start accompanying just a couple of years later. At 16, she became a staff pianist at the Ithaca College School of Music, where she regularly appeared in recital with music majors, graduate students, faculty, and guest artists, well known for her ability to play anything, and for her sensitivity in collaboration. She has since worked with a wide variety of artists (both instrumentalists and singers), including Edward Carroll, Frank Campos, Linda Case, Jan Opalach, Yoonhee Shim, Jayne West, the Alpha Quartet, The Boys Choir of Harlem, the Cayuga Vocal Ensemble, The New England Symphonic Ensemble, and many others. Ms. Meir is a versatile artist, proficient in piano, organ and harpsichord, and equally comfortable as soloist or collaborator.
